Some much needed medical equipment was donated to Peru Mission's Medical Clinic when Dale and Susan Ellison and their family came to live in Peru in November, 2007. A sonogram machine and other essential equipment would be invaluable and would broaden the clinic's ability to serve the community. The equipment came on a boat with the Ellison's personal belongings. When the container arrived, customs released their belongings, but would not release the equipment. We were even told that it would have to be handed over to the Peruvian government. The clinic has been in conversation with customs, attorneys, and the ministry of health disputing contract and legal minutia and have been met with difficulty at almost every turn. This week, after nearly a year and a half of struggle, some of the equipment has been delivered to the clinic. Needless to say, we are relieved and thankful beyond words!
